Title: Searching the Web: Dealing with Visible and Invisible Content

Description: Examines the practices and tools for finding business information by using global search engines. The strengths and weaknesses of the top 6-10 services are outlined, along with specific usage tips and several desktop tools. In addition, only a fraction of web-based information are indexed by the global search engines. The rest is hidden in six types of Web 'dark-matter' and often accounts for the more valuable business information. Resources for invisible content are surveyed.

Instructor: Richard Hackathorn, president of WebFarming.Com. A bio is available.

Time: From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Registration starts at 8:30 with a continental breakfast. Come early, and get acquainted.

Place: US West Advanced Technologies facilities in Boulder, Colorado. Directions and map are available, along with suggested hotel accommodations. 

Fee: $195 which covers materials, breakfast, and breaks. Lunch is on-your-own at the cafeteria. Checks and corporate invoices are accepted and should be received prior to or at the workshop registration. Checks should be payable to WebFarming.com, 4001 Discovery Drive, Suite 390A, Boulder, CO 80303. NOTE: US West attendees are invoiced as a group after the event and received a 20% discount.
